For summer wheels/tires for my black 135i:
These:
Or these:

The top ones look so chunky on the 1. I would go for the bottom set but with a darker finish. Either black or more of a gun-metal gray finish.

I love cross spoke rims and I think that Mercedes has done this especially well on their AMGs. that said I would go with the EC-7's

First ones look good to me.

I agree, but they only come in that color.

I have square 18" arc8s on my 128i. Way lighter than those oems you are also looking at.

What size tires?
You’re right about the weight.

Have you thought about some fat ZCP wheel? Can’t get over how good they look on the 1M. EC-7's are nice but I prefer the second option myself, unless you'll be tracking.

I think they both look great. If your car is already black, though, I would go with the bottom ones.

That’s smaller than stock in the rear, right? How do you like that setup in terms of driving dynamics?

Yeah, the flared fenders on the 1M allow for way more wheel.
You’d just recommend something lighter for tracking?

Well lighter wheels will always make a difference, the less unsprung weight will probably be noticeable, especially if you go with something very light like apex. The difference (to me) while noticeable, isn’t a deciding factor if the car isn’t gonna be tracked. I’m sure the second option (225m’s?) are around the same weight or possible lighter than stock. Switching from run flats to regular tires makes a big difference in ride, and they are lighter too.

Makes sense. Definitely not getting run flats. The second wheels are 269's and are a little lighter than stock, but not much.

Switching to the 269's and non runflats will definitely be lighter than the stock set up, so you can't go wrong either way. Be sure to put up pictures whenever you get the wheels!
