Then why the hell is it !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! instead of being auctioned at Sotheby’s or Barret Jackson?!?!

Maybe the seller doesn’t want to lose a fat chunk of cash to the auction’s mandatory fee?

But if you’re looking for a car on Craigslist it probably means you don’t have a $3 million budget.

Hey, you asked for potential reasons why. You didn't say anything about them having to make sense or anything. :)

No VIN, no care.
Gotta be a CSX3xxxx (or lower) to be worth that kind of money.

Awful high price for no info whatsoever.

If it’s legit (there’s nothing I can see that would state otherwise) that’s still a massive CP. 427 road cars are worth a little over one million, not three million.

Some one offer him $5 and a cupcake. :D

Because many high end collectors see Barrett-Jackson as a greedy shitshow that manipulates the collector market and makes slimy authenticity claims?
Craigslist still gets the word out for free.

The guy doesnt have a picture of the only way to tell whether its real or not. That said, everything you can see from the pictures looks 90% period correct and legit.
The only way to tell if the body is original would be to look inside the fenders for hammer marks. As for the rest of it, the intakes varied, but the battery isnt behind the seats. Certainly something I would want to see in person before making any more judgements.
Shelby routinely signed glove compartment doors of both originals and kits, so that unfortunately doesnt mean much. CSX3124 was the last of the wide body cars, thats documented, but until I see older documentation about it, it could be a continuation car for all I know.

Lots of legit features. Black pipes, single hoop, knock-off wheels, appears to alum body. Knock-off and alum body say a bunch. Kirkum makes alum replicas though. The biggest off thing is the speedo is wrong. It should spin CCW, not CW.
So, inconclusive. Would need more/better pics.

I'm loving the naked one behind it.

If the info is to be believed, its CSX3124, which would be the last wide fender car built. If theyre at all like myself, theyre pricing high enough to still get what they want while letting the buyer think theyre negotiating him down.
I would need to get under the car before I went further though...
