I trust there is a story here.

Do you have a moment to talk about the lord and savior Elon Musk?

I do not want Tesla to be a small cliff note in automotive history. I want this company to still be successful in 100 years.

That being said I think they have made a few questionable business moves. Specifically the Model X is too damn expensive

Specifically the Model X is a cash grab, exactly like the Porsche Cayenne is. Will it work? Maybe... I think the doors are unnecessary for the intended purpose and you can only sell so many ultra-expensive-luxUVs on doors alone.

Model 3 or bust!

(the current state of the Model S is very, very good though.)

http://gizmodo.com/tesla-is-losin…

I mentioned their less than stellar reports on reliability from Edmunds and CR.

On the other hand, those pulling the card of ‘I commute 500 miles a day, don’t have a parking space and regard electricity as a foreign and alien concept, therefore Teslas are rubbish’ are almost equally as annoying. It’s like complaining that a two seat car can’t sit four people at every opportunity.

I think they deserve accolades for everything they have done and done well. I made mention of their reliability opportunity areas. Met with the traditional hatred.

None of that was my complaint. With that said I would still need a second car for a Tesla to be viable for me.

That’s a creative phrasing. I like it.

My boss has an early Model S P85, it’s a very, very nice car; that being said, it has suffered from a number of “upgrades” and “retrofits” and “reliability enhancements”. To Tesla’s credit, their customer service is above and beyond, but the early cars clearly hadn’t had all the bugs worked out. Current Model S’s though... I think they’ve learned and fixed most of the issues.

There, fixed it. This is a behavioral pathology which crosses fan communities.

While a site like Gizmodo is going to have more of the Tesla type, you just described the fanboys of all car companies.

When you step out of a Tesla after having driven/rode in it, every other car seems like a dinosaur. You realize that car technology has been at a standstill relative to a Model S. It’s just so damn smart and futuristic.

They’re doing some fantastic stuff.

I guess, they don’t really do it for me. Felt more like a gadget than a car but to each their own.

Have you driven one? I thought like you, then I took one for a test drive. Now I’ll probably buy one for my next DD.

I’ve ridden in one. There’s three main reasons why I won’t have a Tesla. The first is the price. The second is I like exhaust notes. And the Tesla I would want isn’t in my price range.

That's kinda the feeling I have. Doors are stupid if they make the three work though they will be good to go

I think they’ve done a spectacular job at handling the experience of a mechanical failure. But unfortunately it’s still a PITA.

I know I’m probably somewhat alone in this, but I think they went a bit overboard on the gimmicks. It didn’t need those to be premium.
