Met Mr. R for sandwiches and Yuengling in a quintessentially
Pennsylvanian
setting, and was surprised to see that he actually brought the Vagabond Falcon! I was expecting it to look small next to the Phaeton, but they were pretty evenly matched.
The car is suitably “regular,” and beautiful in its simplicity. Here’s a slightly better shot. Unfortunately I only had my potato for a camera:

I remember when the Cutlass Supreme was considered a mid-sized car - now it’s like helming a barge.

So is he reviewing the Phaeton?

The VF reminds me a lot of the Plymouth Valiant in
Duel
.

He already did, last summer.

The more he continues to drive it as-is, the better he’ll be able to appreciate the difference all those mods are going to make. I’ve been following the VF build videos, and am pretty excited about the project.

That would be a very weird drag race.

It looks so scared.

Would you believe that Falcon is only 2 1/2 inches longer than the current Focus?

Huh - I suppose it’s the hatchback that makes the modern car look shorter.

I think the Focus hatch is a bit shorter than the Focus sedan.

I really like the look of this car. I was kind of disappointed to see that he wasn't going to leave it stock, but at the same time I understood why he had to upgrade it for modern driving. I admit I lost track of the videos; so, I don't know where he is in the process.

The Falcon was absolutely a compact by American standards, but it was a compact coming off a trend for the very, very big. Most of the effort was to make it just small enough that it was a smart alternative to a Bug on gas, and easy to park, while being a bit more comfortable. So while it’s not all that tiny, it *is* pretty light and very simply designed.

Shame you wouldn’t be able to hear the Falcon from inside the Phaeton.
