I was walking my son to school early this morning, and when we turned the corner we saw the sheriff motorcycle deputy with his lights on. One of the parents had parked in his car in the drop off lane (it’s a no stopping zone in the mornings, no parking all day), facing the wrong way, in front of a fire hydrant. It was the asshat trifecta.

No roundel on the hood?

10-1 it was a peace sign sticking up on the hood.

Probably was. That or a van.

I hope tickets were issued, yes?

Asking the important questions.

We all want to know what kind of car it was so we can judge them more accurately.

If 3 is a trifecta, what's 4?

Thank God it wasn’t “The Aristocrats!” Think of the children!!

Chrysler 300 with the front end all bashed up. Which means the guy has minimal or no insurance.

Bonus round: “But I was just running in!”

Absolutely. This particular deputy lives in out neighborhood and takes special interest in our school. He's also running for county constable. He's on top of it.

Thank goodness. Too often these people get away with their misbehavior, and we have to put up with them.
I came out of a Home Depot one time to find a car blocking a handicap spot. There is usually a city officer in the store with time on his hands. He came out with me and waited for the miscreant parker to come out to his car, and then I got to watch him put the fear of God into the guy. I think the guy almost peed his pants worrying that the cop would have his car towed or something.
That was a glass-half-full moment, right there.

Doesn’t have the same ring to it.

This is good OPPO

Unfortunately that is what it is and that is what it will continue to be with no regard to how you feel about it.

But that’s the rub. The cop
should
have had his car towed. It’s like when I threaten to take away my boys’ video games but then let them off the hook. If we don’t follow through, they’ll never learn.

I agree because that has been my experience as well, but I think because it was a private lot, it wasn’t for the city police to do. However, I haven’t checked the law on that. I just try to enjoy the memory of a rare moment of comeuppance for a douche parker.

Points to you for walking your son to school.

It's like a block and half, .25 mi at the most. But my boys like me tagging along.
