I’ve seen it on sale for about half off and for that price I’m willing to try, but I figured I’d ask for an OPPOinion first.
It looks fun and the concept of giant robots is rad. I have 3 main concerns.
1. Can you pick up and leave whenever? I don’t want to be stuck for 45 minutes to an hour like League of Legends if I don’t have time.
2. Is it easy enough to pick up and learn? Is there a super steep learning curve for someone who’s never bothered with a FPS game before?
3. How long/rewarding is the single player campagin. Kotaku had good things to say about it but I’d like another opinion. Especially because I’m not so thrilled with multi-player games in general.
If this helps place what I know about shooting/fighting games, think about your parents. Which one is less tech oriented? Now give them a controller and that’ll probably be about my skill level.

I have been going through the campaign. It’s just challenging enough to be fun, but not impossible. So far the game is fantastic. Also, giant robots with missiles.
Multiplayer matches don’t last 45 minutes, but I’ve only done a couple so far, so don’t quote me on that.

How long do you think the campagin is in hours?

I’ve got about 5 hours in it. Most reviewers, who are much better gamer’s than I am, say they finish it in 5 hours, but I have no sense of where the end is. It’s very good, though.

So it’ll take me at least 10
