Yamaha still makes the TW200.
It’s ultra slow, but will go anywhere. It suit the kind of riding I do. Finding “trails”, and plucking down them. I put it in the back of truck between trails, I would not want to ride one at high speeds. It’s also like a “lego” bike. Since it has remained largely unchanged for 30 years (1987-present), the after market is massive. Parts from a 2014 will fit on a 1994.
It’s the 2 wheeled equivalent of an antique tractor.

I feel as if tiny dual sports are better at being Groms than Groms themselves. Gas mileage is worse, but they have bigger engines and weigh less and still go everywhere. Only catch is they’re kind of uglier.

A grom does not weigh less then this thing. Grom are 225lbs fully fueled.

I think I had one of these when I did my course. At least for a little bit.

I had one for my MSF course. Way better than than the 250 cruisers that most people were stuck with.

I’ve been tempted by the TW200 as a third bike for a while. They really can do anything.

Huh, thought they were around 280. Still, point stands.

My MSF course had a few of these. I didn’t ride one as they said to let the shorter riders use them. I rode a newer 250 Yamaha dirtbike, don’t remember the model.

The TeeDub! I had one back in the mid 90's. My memory of it is exactly as you described! It was a solid little bike... a sure footed mountain goat. Not fast, but fun!
