people are crazy. The woman tailgating me somehow defied physic by getting her bumper to simultaneously yet completely independently occupy the same space.

That’s good, I nearly t-boned/got t-boned by a kid pulling out of the school road in a lifted diesel F350. It’s not like visibility was bad, I don’t know what he was thinking. I’m going about 35 in a 30 and I’m no more than 100 feet from the 4-way intersection when he pulls out from the left. We both stopped HARD and ended up about 90 degrees to each other in the middle of the intersection, with his front bumper just over the mid-point of the road into my lane. I rolled by slowly after giving him a good earful of horn and he didn’t even give me a “sorry” wave.

It sent my lunch way up into the passenger’s footwell from its place on the seat. It would have been very, very ugly for my little car, colliding with that bro truck at any speed. I couldn’t make the right turn because there was a car there and with the short notice I probably would have slid right into them, the side roads are still slushy from yesterday’s snow. So yeah, happy holidays!

I feel ya. Yesterday I was nearly sideswiped by a lady in a very dented S197 that drifted into my lane several times. Looked over and she was typing something on her phone, not looking at the road at all. I was on edge after just getting past sitting in a giant cluster caused by a new traffic pattern that dumps a brand new overpass on a highway right into a 4-way stop sign. At the next intersection I rolled down the window and screamed at her to put down the fucking phone and pay attention. She pretended to not hear me, but it was clear she did. Driver behind me who also nearly got hit by her looked pleased with my action, but I wouldn’t recommend this. Something about drivers on the phone when I’m already upset about traffic really sets me off. I don’t mind someone hacking out a quick message at a red light, but once you are moving focus on driving!

i almost got side swiped yesterday too. During rush hours the breakdown lane is open to normal traffic. Its no secret, there are signs and one even lights up to say ‘open to traffic’. The guy in the right lane (which is now the middle lane) decides he can just take the offramp without worrying about whats next to him in the right lane

Yesterday while sitting at a traffic light a lady in front of me in the next lane over didn’t accelerate when the light turned green. Cars in front of her were already clear of the intersection. When I passed her I looked to see what the hell she was doing, had a hamburger in her left hand and her phone in the other hand. She eventually accelerated but it was a good almost 10 seconds before she realized.
