!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
The seller (who I happen to know unfortunately), wants $8000 for it. I’ll just quote the ad for these:
“Smokes a bit, have pistion rings to fix. Good compression on 4 pistons. Oil getting past other 2. Normal for this year, make and model.”
“Has dent on front driver side fender. (priced to fix is around $700 from body shop).”
“I AM VERY FIRM ON PRICE because this is what it’s been priced at by a dealer. NO TRADES !!!!!!!”

The “I have the parts to fix it” defense only somewhat applies when its just a easy weekend project for the new owners. Something like worn brakes or new tires which just need to be mounted. Piston rings are not a easy weekend project.

This right here. I’ve got the $50 worth of parts, you just need to supply the $2500 in labor.

This just came up on the FP, there was a Subaru and the owner was including a new head gasket for the next owner to just do that quick, little gasket change. How nice.

Nonsense. No dealer is going to give him $8k for that.

Yeah that’s firmly in crack pipe territory. Or as I read it PCP PCP PCP PCP territory. I’m not sure which is worse.

“I AM VERY FIRM ON PRICE because this is what it’s been priced at by a dealer. NO TRADES !!!!!!!”
That’s the most confusing part and when this person shows they are full of shit. You sell to a dealer because it is convenient, not because you get the best price. If this person is selling at dealer price then why not just sell it to a dealer and avoid all the hassle of selling it independently? You sell it independently to get a price better than what a dealer is offering.
