Have an Oppo Miata.
So far we have 3 signed up. We always are looking for more. Consult this post. (for some reason Kinja decided not to allow me to share it.)

Do you need a wheel and pedal setup to play iracing?

Oh boy, I might be interested! What car are you planning on using?

You need at least a controller though a wheel is highly recommended.

Man I wish I could! You will have to tell us how it went.

If someone wants to renew my membership and get me the required car and track I’m in.

Might open another hosted session this evening.

I’m still not happy about the fact that they now allow controllers and (seriously) iPads. I don’t understand how it’s possible considering that most of the cars don’t have ABS and brake modulation is key.

there is a driver poll in the sign up sheet. Depending on how many people want to do it. We might run multiple cars.

Controller is a minimum, wheel is highly recommended. Daytona is a fairly easy road course so you could get away with a controller.

I will look for it. I don’t own any of the cars in the race though lol
Waiting to see which one we choose.

I’m hoping for the prototype because that’s the one that offers the most options for gaining time through setup and I love setting a car up.

If we are close, I am open to recruiting a couple orphans on iRacing to fill those couple seats if that is alright with others. But we can figure that out in a little while.
One of the things I am a bit concerned with is the iRating disparity, if it is substantial, I might split into two teams so that we don’t have low split guys in top split and vice versa.

I’ll look into it. In that case the limiting factor will be my laptop. I hope it doesn’t require an independent graphics card.

It doesn’t require an independent graphics card per se, there last update (Dec 2016) just stopped updates on 32-bit systems and DX9. The Sys reqs are quite low. I was running it on 32bit Win7, 4GB ram, and a Radeon HD 5400 until 2015.
If you are looking at running a controller I suggest a Xbox one, or any one that has triggers you can use for throttle, the accelerator and brakes are very sensitive and a button will not cut it.

I’m installing now. I assuming I need the mx-5 cup car? and daytona road course.

For the Roar you will need the MX-5, but it is included with your subscription. For the 24 hours, it is the three GT3 cars and the C7 prototype.
The old version of Daytona is included with the sub as well. So if you want to bomb around that ones road course as a test have at it. But you will have to purchase the actual course for the real thing.
Have fun.
