Two things
1. Most of the P47D’s were razorback models and I know of one pilot who would not fly the bubble canopy until they forced him, The razorback would turn tighter than the bubble canopy version
2. The P47's were equipped with eight Browning.50 caliber machine guns versus 6 on the P51C

I’ve always been a fan of the P-51B/C with the Malcolm Hood canopy cribbed from the Spit.
