A follow up to my post last week regarding the pajero sport, this week, I’m rocking an Everest in lovely queenstown. I want one of these too
In case you needed to know how many gears on your transmission
Keep left! Also, lane keep assist, auto cruise, blind spot monitoring and some other niceties
FYI, diesel only.

soon to be a Bronco. I mean it will get refreshed but yeah. Do you like it? I hear they are pretty great, and the 3.2 sounds like a solid performer.

Those are some nice rentals, I was expecting a more basic model. Still you will be the envy of the FP as you basically drove a new Ranger and a Triton/L200.

It’s nice and punchy. The tip in is better than the Pajero and the turbo spools up faster. Still feels lazy, but good enough in town. The active noise cancellation in cabin helps.
If it comes to the US, I want this exact config. No changes.

I’ve driven that engine in full size Transit vans and it’s pretty not bad. Sounds good, makes the right amount of power in the right RPM range. 10/10 would buy in a small truck.

Well, I was hoping for LC200s or Prados, but these are pretty awesome cars too. With my discount rates, they cost similar to a full size car. I guess I could’ve rented Holden commodore SS or SV6 wagons too. Those would’ve been my backup choices

Don’t hold your breath for the 3.2, since its not emissions compliant for this class of vehicle here, but an EB 2.7 would be a nice little engine for it.
More torque, more HP, lighter...could be good...aside from economy.

Currently averaging around 9.1l/100km = 26mpg for basically all in town driving

Which is pretty great, but not great enough to offset the extra $4000 a diesel option would be against an engine that would get, say, 18-19 in town. It makes sense there, but it wouldn’t here.

If they bring this to the US with this engine, it will be my next car. It’s perfect

Follow up. Have a new Prado Gx (Diesel) out of Auckland airport for these next 8 days. I want my Everest back.

Need more than that, I’ve driven a Ranger with the 3.2 (with photo evidence!) and the FP has wiped any evidence I exist.

I had a Ranger for a weekend with the 3.2. Even with EPA-compliant emissions it should do a lot better than 18-19 mpg. Hell, my 2011 with the 4.0 boat anchor V6 does a consistent 19-20.

I mean the 2.7 eb bit the 3.2 for mileage
