Kind of but not personally. Björn Marek, the German dude with the first or second gen Viper is also a book author and is/was a journalist for an car magazine about American cars in Germany. That’s why I know him.

I’m separated by 1 degree from another Oppo regular. He figured it out from a picture I posted that told him where I live and work, which is where his mom works... Her desk is on the other side of the wall next to my desk.

I totally failed at being interviewed by Stef, and had a quick chat with Dusty Ventures during the course of which he (jokingly I think) threatened to ban me, during the LeMons Rally this summer. That’s as close as I’ve got. I know no one. It doesn’t help that I’m pretty much a hermit in the middle of nowhere.

I do know a couple people who peruse the front page, don’t think they comment much though, so I can’t say they’re a part of the community.

Pro tip:

If you meet up somewhere as a double date with your wives, make sure the wives know before meeting up with each other that this “guy you know” is from a message board, and you had actually never met before.

I met up with someone once at a concert, and when the wives asked how we knew each other, the “Oh, we know each other from the internet” is never a good response.

Tell the women in advance, so they can get the eye-rolling out of the way, and so the texts back and forth to the friend that may or may not consist of “What are you wearing?” don’t seem so weird.
