No Windows Phones. What do you buy, and why?
Right now my top contender is the Honor 5x, but I am nervous buying a phone without holding one first.

I just bought a Pixel, but that’s because I hate every Android skin the manufacturers have done so far. I like my Android 200 proof.

can you find a sony xperia Z3 for the price? I love mind to death, and its not too too overloaded on bloatware.

Moto G4 or perhaps a Moto X if you can get a good deal on one. You can customize it just the way you want on motomaker.com :)

Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5. It’s not the latest or the greatest, but it’s got a removable battery and micro SD slot, plus it’s waterproof. A Toyota Hilux, if you will.

A used Note II.
Source: Owned one for the past 4 years.
Still works perfectly.

The Moto E and Moto G are all pretty good. I had a Moto E after I broke my Moto X and I loved it.

Alcatel Idol 4? I have the Idol 3 and it’s a fine phone for the price, build quality and software bugs seem to be the biggest issues although I haven’t had any major issues with mine.

For the past 3 years Motorola has consistently put out the best phones at around 200 dollars. I still have the original moto g. Brother has a g4. They are excellent phones rivaling 600 dollar competitors. https://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-g-family

The Huawei Android skin is absolutely garbage. So good hardware, horrid OS.
Only if you can flash to stock android would I get anything Huawei.

OnePlus X. I don’t know a lot about phones (I’ve just got a crappy Tracphone) but I’ve heard good things.

I have a Moto X Pure, and it’s fantastic. Truly a flagship killing phone for 1/3 the price. A 32 GB model is now 269 at Best Buy. If that’s too much extra to spend, get the new Moto G. It’s 199, and like the Moto X, is a killer deal for an amazing phone.

Galaxy Note 4 because that’s what I bought in that price range a month ago. Still top of the line specs in a beautiful package. Several new and refurbed on eBay for less than $200. (Verizon here so I was limited in my phone choice.)
