1946 !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Needs new floors but it runs and drives, has a working winch, and comes with a soft top. For $2,500 this might just be the best way into classic Jeep ownership.

I wouldn’t know much but diamond plating usually hides rust. NP for a “Whilys” jeep that includes the mentioned stuff.

I believe that’s a 3A, which is, um, not a 2A and therefore not a ‘46.

Nerp - probably a 2A considering the ignition switch location. It’s common to have the later 3A windshield frame swapped onto the 2A.

$2,000 or $1,500 sounds a lot better for something that will probably need a frame-off restoration. That Dana 41 rear axle is a mother fucker to work on due to parts being Dana 41 specific, and the front axle has closed-knuckle joints on it. You’ll have to run 5.38 gears (stock gears) unless you swap out the rear axle.
I would also count on a new tub, since the originals aren’t really worth saving if they’re that far gone, and newer tubs are better built in my opinion. That tub looks like a patchwork quilt.

I may bow to your expertise - but if that’s the case, what’s up with the pan? It looks like it has the sharp crease of a 3A rather than a 2A, and the front fenders/steps also look wrong. Might this one be a fronkensteen - 2A revived with a lot of the body and other pieces of a 3A?

Never mind, I see that some 2As have the abbreviated step and more pronounced crease. Confound it, Willys!

You lied. It wasn’t beautiful outside, it was a cold wasteland and I’m angry.

If you havea good daily driver and garage space and SAE tolls, not metric, it looks fun and low risk. if you give up I think you wont take a hit in the wallet to get rid of it

Yeah Willys did not make it easy to differentiate between the two.

What do you know, you’re a Series fan.

From what I was looking at, it seemed that there were at least three versions of the pan and as many permutations of fenders. Fenders with no step, fenders with triangle step (uncommon), fenders with rounded step, and with some variation of the front edge on each, I think. Pans that were roll-braked, pans that were box-braked, pans that were stamped with a reinforcing rib pressed in...

A‘47 in good condition (new FRP tub) is asking $5500 OBO in my area.
The diamond plate says that body is borked. So you’ll need a new tub if you want it looking original. I’d bet my hat on it.
