Am I the only one who thinks this way?
(Sorry for the really bad photoshop.)

No, I like it. Might even be desirable for Korea and Gi-na.

China might like it, but it kinda clashes with the rather modern design. It just doesn’t fit very well, same as the new Mercedes. I say leave the hood ornaments for the older cars.

Had an ‘87 300D - hood ornament taken twice, then I just put a badge on the hole. However, I am not opposed to one that can’t be ripped off the car.

Retractable is where it’s at.

Gi-na
That term is actually considered quite offensive, dates back to the Japanese invasions. Two Legco elects got into trouble for that in Hong Kong right now.

Kinda reminds me of the Equus.

I always approve of hood ornaments...

When I bought the ‘87 300D, that was not an option. And I would have paid, believe me.

This is like a landau roof for your hood

But luxury cars look naked without them. Need something to say to the peasants “I’ll stab you if you don’t move over.”

But luxury touches added in the aftermarket always look shoddy. DRLs are in the same camp.
What you need is a gun ;)

Actually that ornament “came off” an 1950 Series 60 (or 70).
