It’s one particular section of road that has a reputation. For 10kms it’s all open field. There was 1/2" of slush on the road, with blowing snow. The limit is 80kph, I was doing 65kph. Luckily there was a truck in front of me making tracks to follow, if you left the tracks you go for a ride. At stop light on that stretch as it turned green I broke traction up to 5th gear, that was barely touching the gas.
A warmer climate seems appealing right now.
Edit: I do have snow tires on.

Good stuff. I guess it’s time to start commuting on a ski-doo?

I would not want to commute 43kms (1 way) on 26y/o Arctic Cat long track Jag.

Might be time for an upgrade, then.

If you pay for it, make a 2017 Yamaha VK540. 540cc 2 stroke twin, single carb, long track. Just my style.

you know as well as I do that Fi has come a LONG way from the 80s. Never had an FI system let me down.
Both carb’ed bikes that i’ve ridden for any period of time have though buells blast kept blowing the carb off the motor, and the yellow SV doesnt like to start right off the bat.

I know FI has come lots, up there less is more. That’s why there is a fleet of 440cc air cooled long track jags. 2 stroke carb is still our style.
