I keep seeing these newer Corollas around town. Honestly, not too shabby. LED headlights too. I wonder if they drive like they’re grounded to the ground?
They even come in a nice shade of green:

I see a LOT of them as well......aren’t they just updated versions of the same platform that has been around for ages? I still like them though! :)
I wouldn’t mind the Corolla iM with a stick-shift either!

If I understand the wiki, this current Corolla is on a newer platform.
Also...I had not seen the refresh until just now:
Damnit Toyota. Why’d you have to go Predator on it? (aka Mirai)

Ah, nice that it is on a new platform, wasn’t sure of that one!
As for the refresh......eww. I much prefer the non-facelifted version.

This might sound strange, but you know what that reminds me of? The 1999 Cougar. Perhaps for no other reason than the rounded body styling and the colors. (The Cougar had similar shades of green and blue.)

I really like that green. I drove an 04 Corolla for many miles. Not as good as my 3, but I certainly wouldn’t complain if I needed cheap relatable transport. I didn’t count it in my car search a couple years back because no hatch and drum brakes
I saw a XRS Corolla the other week. I didn’t know they made that trim anymore.

Oooh, the last generation Cougar! I recall extremely uncomfortable back seats and weird styling.
Also, Ford definitely has some nice colors like “Atlantic blue” and “Toreador red”. (Honorable mention: Mystichrome)

They drive like garbage! Darty electric steering and a CVT that pretends to shift.
Almost as long as my Outback (bumper to bumper) with half of the interior volume.
Awful ride/NVH for a modern car.
Nice headlights.
My girlfriend has a 2015. let’s just say we’ve put almost 20k on my Outback in the time it took to put 6k on the Corolla.

I always liked Mystichrome. Sure is a rare sight, though. I spotted this one over the summer.

I see they’re available with a 6 speed manuel and useful TRD parts (swaybar, springs)
There is hope.
