Remark: That one does not have a roller on the other end, hence has room for improvement if you have to use a bamboo one . It also cannot be stored in a pocket, used as a bottle opener, and as a magnet to retrieve things like this device:

Counterpoint: turned wooden rollers feel very good and provide versatility while adding only two parts and three-four machine steps. From a design standpoint, there’s non-linear return in utility for a linear increase in complexity, so it’s at least possibly a good idea.
