Rear wiper delete and removal of old cd changer I never used. The wiper was broken anyway. Kinda want to strip the interior but I dont have time/money for track days and related upgrades like suspension and brakes so ruining its streetability may not be the way to go.

Oh man rear wipers are the best. I’ve resolved to never have another car without one.

That’s surprising to me with all the rain you Brits get but they really shine in the snow.

The rear wiper on the E36 Compact look out of place imo so that’s a good thing you removed them.

So tiny.

Especially compared to the fronts which are 18" driver and 19" passenger.

Yeah it did look odd.

Suppose I never really find the water obscuring my vision out the back too much. Just need to see how close following vehicles are really which doesnt need perfect clarity.

I might be obsessed with rearward visibility.

I’m pretty sure E36 interiors are self-stripping! My friends’ 328is used to drop it’s glovebox door/trim on my lap whenever I went for a ride. We eventually reached the point where they were just removed altogether. But before that, I would take them out and place them in the back seat.

Haha yeah theyre very cheaply made, especially the compacts like mine.

Maybe you know this already, but just in case this is a great BMW nerd tidbit: The reason why BMW plastics from that era are so brittle comes down to legislation. Government policy outstripped technological progress - the German parliament forced car manufacturers to buy environmentally friendly plastics, but decent green plastics were not available yet. So they had to use questionable stuff that didn’t age well because nothing else was available.

Just realised i didnt read this, had it open in chrome on my phone to remind me haha. But that definitely explains a lot, most of the plastics are very brittle or misshapen. Didnt actually know that was the case before.
