Whenver I switch tabs on my browser back to a kinja site, I sweep my mouse from the tab to the header image/hyperlink to refresh the page....
Just about every time, the kinja toolbar drops down a link right over the header image. I have never clicked on more Jezebel/Kotaku sites in my life.

I can’t tell you how many times I have clicked on that marijuana story.

YES. I hate how it keeps covering up my notifications drop-down.

Yes, happens to me on Chrome and W10 too. They should make it so you have to click it to open and not just hover to open.

Several times a day yes.

Probably designed that way to get more page clicks.

Yes. Statistically, I’m now Lifehacker’s number one fan.

Not only is it annoying, but the order of the sites switches everytime you go to a new page. So yeah, probably a way to drive more clicks to some of these sites.

Except when you see one of those articles in the drop down thing -
e.g.
, you want to read the one titled “Please Stop Saying Poor People Did This” - and you think “hey I’d like to read that” and you try to move the mouse pointer to try to click it, the drop-down disappears before you can get the mouse pointer over there. So in terms of getting clicks it’s not quite ideal.

I haven’t had that happen.

And there’s no feedback to tell you which site it was on, so you have to roll over all the blog names to find it again.
