Just picked up a customer’s Disco Sport for a sunroof. It’s nice, but not nice enough to cost as much as two Meepsters.
In the showroom was a Range Rover with the caramel-colored interior.
It had the most British thing ever.
i really like that color...
It’s an umbrella built into the driver’s seat.

I’ve heard awful things about the Discovery Sport... cheap, not worth its price, doesn’t drive well, poor interior

I we were gonna get a Disco sport but the Fiat won out.

Classy. As. Fuck.

That seems significantly inferior to the umbrellas that slot into the door.

YES IT DID! Fiat woot

You are installing a sunroof?!

Yes. We have done it on Land Rovers, BMW x5s and 3 series, and literally hundreds of Accords and Altimas.

Discovery sport = a less evocative evoke

Interior is all right, but the hard plastic on many of the touch surfaces feels cheap

I’d be pissed. A $40,000 car with an LR badge should not have cheap plasitc galore
![]() 10/27/2016 at 16:33 |

For the money I’d rather have the Evoque. 5 door is about the same price.

It’s that satin-look black stuff similar to what was in the center stack of my old base-model Kia Soul. Although it isn’t in as great a quantity. The hard plastics in the Jeep are far better.

I know I’m an adult now because every time I see something like this I think about all the mold that will form in that hole with a wet umbrella shoved into it. This one seems even worse than the umbrella in the door since you have to bring your wet umbrella through the interior of the vehicle!

And the Renegade costs less than half the price of that LR. What a time to be alive.

Yeah, one reason for the door to be better (wonder if they can route the HVAC over it to dry it out)

They say terrible things about the nine speed automatic that you can get in the Sport, but usually when it’s in a Chrysler. How was it in the Sport?

Luxury brands cannot into good cheap cars.

The auto trans in the Disco Sport felt ok but seemed to want to do shift flare when accelerating hard. In the Renegade the 9 speed was just jerky and felt like it didn’t know what gear it wanted.
We got the 6 speed manual in our Renegade.

With base sticker starting at $37,695 and with base-Fiesta plastic on the center stack, door panels and dash, it’s neither cheap nor good.

Sticker on Meepster was about $23k. We were out the door at $19,300. Which is about $1000 under half the base sticker for a Disco Sport.

How much does that cost

Depending on the vehicle between $1000-1300 for a standard roof.
We don’t have any panoramic roofs. Those are a huge pain in the ass.
