Like this but with rust over the wheelarches, a peeling vinyl top, rusting steelies, and faded orange paint.
It was on a family members farm, with the transmission and the driveline out. He swapped the engine into his Oldsmobile Cutlass ( one of the malaise era ones. ) I wonder what happened to it. I was down there in 2015, but the car we were taking couldn’t tow it, and the family member wasn’t sure about selling. I’ll be back down there in July.

Here’s the one you need, but make sure it has a V-6.

A first gen Monte with a 454/TH400 is a total smoke machine.

They’re really good cars, albeit not lightweights. I had a ‘72 in high school. Beat the crap out of it and it never let me down. Mine sounds like it was similar to yours. Orange / rust colored, vinyl top, and some goofy looking wheel covers on steelies. Loved the extra long hood, especially at the drive in!

I think this one had a 350

Yes- I wish mine had that - was a 350/350 though, and a 2 barrel, too. A 1970 SS would be a sweet ride.

There is a local SCCA guy that runs a very very fast G-body Monte. From what I understand the chassis isn’t to bad once you get the geometry straight.

One of my favorite Overhaulin’ builds was a ‘70 Monte with a 572 and they actually made it pretty clean.
