We need to pool our money to buy a new engine for this beast.

That would likely be the most fuel efficient Bronco ever. Which means it may not really be a Bronco.

Thursday. Engine was just too tired to make sufficient oil pressure.

I’ve found a few donor cars I could potentially afford, but I still don’t have time or space to do a swap.

370,000 miles!
That’s impressive
Looks pretty solid otherwise. You’re just about as far from me as possible

did it always have low pressure, or was it a sudden development? run it low on oil?..........

It was a little low since I got it, but made good pressure when applying gas. A friend said that it was probably fine, obviously it was not. I checked oil level almost compulsively.

You could pick an engine, then send it to an Opponaut who could restore it. It’d be an Oppo project car.

Can’t we just rebuild the engine? Or would throwing a rod necessitate a new engine?

We could rebuild the engine. But that’s still a big time and money sink.

You could rebuild it, but 5.0s are so common that buying a new one and swapping it in is less efffort than tearing the whole engine down and putting it back together.

I got a dead cargo van with a bad transmission... will a 5.4 Triton V8 bolt in there? Maybe we could make FrankenBronco.

Haha it is a decent sized engine bay, maybe we could make it work.
