Oh shit. That’s gonna be real bad.

The scariest thing is that apparently nobody stopped to think, “Is this right?”

You need to do a damn coffee table book.

Heard you like cracks... So we put cracks on the cracks of your cracks..

I...uh...wow. This is why I’d want to inspect a house through every portion of the building, if it were going to be my house.

Is there a subreddit called “JustRolledIntoTheJobSite?”
There should be. Some of this shit is just as cringeworthy as a 60K mile engine getting it’s first oil change.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:18 |

That’ll buff right out!
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:19 |

Thats a “kwality” pour right there

Nothing a little sub flooring won’t fix.
And by fix I mean cover up until well past the time that anyone can be sued.

Most of the stuff he posts from houses should not be near food or drink.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:25 |

I think you need to settle down a little...

This job will not be all it’s cracked up to be...

I can feel your fractured spirit from here....

No
NO PUNS

That’s what vinyl floor coverings are for.

Given that I have actually helped do electrical work at a place that had a 60A breaker feeding a pair of 6 AWG wires (okay so far) that had 12AWG wires tapping off from it (wtf?) to lead down to each outlet. Eventually we told them “unless we can tear it all out and start over, we can not make this place safe.”
...yeah, and then there is the home inspection nightmares site.

Did you happen to have a sinking feeling upon seeing this?
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:29 |

Just lay some carpet down and it’s good as new!
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:29 |

You’re on crack. There is no cure.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:30 |

I do too. I’m working in a lab today with several others and wondering if it would be too much bringing a barf can in.

This might be concrete proof that builders generally do not receive a stamp of approval to cement their contracts...
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:31 |

I might be a little wet behind the ears, but there’s always room for expansion.

Nobody cares unfortunately.

Just say that the ‘distressed’ look adds to the artisanal feel of the floor and charge extra.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:34 |

That’s a whole slab of shit. I feel like the foundation of this post was solid but it had time to settle into my mind and now I’m cracking up.
(I hate me, too)
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:35 |

That doesn’t even qualify as a closet.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:37 |

You’ve built this argument on a weak foundation.

Hey, if you cover it about an eighth deep in sheetrock mud and then use a concrete coating on that, nobody will know!
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:40 |

cause they are the byproduct of those

I shudder to think what this house will sell for.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:41 |

You’ll appreciate this .
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:41 |

I dont get this at all. The one place you don’t want to build to a price..
The floor of our mechanical room started cracking as soon as they started setting the boilers. It’s the top floor of the building! WTF?
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:48 |

I don’t think anyone can blame you for being floored after seeing this.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 14:51 |

looks like the top layer just dried too quickly.
when i poured my foundation i watered it for almost 2 days.
look at this mirror finish
this is my house before i started my renovations (Started Aug 2014)
and this was two weeks ago (Old house is the top level)
i’m 2 years in (nights and weekends) have about 1 year left
my daughter was 6 months old when i started, she will be 3 in feb, and my son will be 1 year old in 3 weeks.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 15:07 |

Looks like some floor patch cracked up a bit. Is it just on the topping, or is that the slab too?
![]() 10/03/2016 at 15:09 |

UGHHHHHHHHHHH
![]() 10/03/2016 at 15:11 |

Not sure, got the hell out of there as fast as I could.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 15:16 |

You can form your own opinion.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 15:18 |

I think we need a concrete explanation of the exact issue.

Slow Monday?

Didn’t want a basement? Or is the water table too high?
![]() 10/03/2016 at 15:50 |
|
swampy area where I live, and the crawl space i had was too humid(humidity smell).
no basement humidity, no basement to heat.....
Also wanted a heated slab. (I live in northwestern quebec, we do get a few -40 days)
![]() 10/03/2016 at 16:10 |

That’s fair. I was just curious. I know some places just don’t find value in basements ( majority of Cali), and some places love their extra space ( north east ). It is interesting, the different requirements of all over the globe.
![]() 10/03/2016 at 16:17 |
|
Certainly isn’t fast setting...
![]() 10/03/2016 at 16:25 |

all basements arround here need a sump pump, and they all smell of basement. I got rid of that problem, and 2 years in am very happy with my choice. And when people tell me they just got a flooding problem, because the pumps float was blocked by something after a rain fall, they all understand why i didn’t want one.

There are two types of concrete. Concrete that has cracked and concrete that will crack. This particular concrete is of the former variety.

Oh man, does that hit home. So right.

When I was a graduate TA, I posted that on my office door. It’s brilliant.

I would’ve done the same when I was a grad TA. I don’t miss those days.

Definitely not worth it then. Smart decision.
