It’s fine, I didn’t want overdrive anyway, it’s overrated. I mean it’s still engaging O/D most of the time, but this is the second time this week that its just stuck in 3rd. I have a feeling I won’t be getting this thing to 350k.....

What’s the original context of the graphic. I must investigate

4L60E lyfe!
I think the overdrive on the safari has all together stopped working a long time ago.

Aw yeah, I bet highway speed in 3rd is pretty awesome

Ive driven an audi with only 3 gears, and no brakes. eek.

I feel like even if overdrive worked it would never engage since even floored it struggles to hold 65 up a slight incline.

That sounds like a stressful experience

Yours has the older 4.3 right? I feel like any less power than what my vortec has would be pretty inadequate for the weight of a safari...

Good old 160 horsepower version. Well, 160 horsepower when new. The only thing that makes it almost livable is the 230 ft-lbs of torque.

That’s more torque than I expected for some reason. I mean mine makes 260, in theory, so it makes sense.

very.
I almost rear ended the support vehicle quite a few times.
it drove along the lines of..
1..THUD..2..3...sssllliiippppp...THUD-OH SHIIII...
seriously, driving over 60 KM/h was really sketchy.

That title can have a very different meaning.

I've had good success with Lucas' "stop slip" getting another 40-50k out of a dying auto-trans. Your mileage may vary, but for <$20, it's not a bad bet.

Oh, well that's good to know, maybe I'll try that. Thanks for the tip!
