Same, I would’ve thought it was a lot higher, too. It’s supposed to be in line with the GT-class rules for the WEC, and from what I see weights can be around 500-600hp depending on weight - all power/weight ratios for the many different cars and engines should work out very similar.

Balance of Preformace? Never heard the acronym but I am familiar with the idea. I just figured a higher horsepower yield would be achieveable.

The deficit resulting from restrictors is closed elsewhere, be it less weight (ballast), aero, fuel, etc.

DaytonaPrototype are around 550 HP I think the GTLM cars are around 500

Interesting. I always thought teams would want more power the quickest and best way to overtake is on a straight. However I am just an aspiring law student. I will accept your engineering opinion as fact.

Valid point, but at Daytona there’s not too much unbanked straight. Grip > raw HP.

The other thing to consider is how tricky a banked oval is when you can’t stagger your suspension and tires ala NASCAR, you want as much Aero and grip to hold the line when the car wants to fight you. IIRC the Vettes use a 5.5l V8. When you consider that you need to reliably make horsepower, with a restrictor and last 24hrs 419hp isn’t bad. The factory 5.7 Z06 motor from the C5 only made 405hp.
