As near as I can tell, it’s a bit of a fad/meme/trope in the Mustang community to have an obsession with chrome billet aluminum interior trim. Unfortunately I am weak-willed and bought these spun-aluminum shifter trim pieces for a couple bucks on eBay.
I couldn’t stand the monochrome nasty black plastic that existed previously.

The thing that used to annoy me about my ‘05 Mustang was that the aluminum trim on the steering wheel would get so hot in the summer that you couldn’t put your hands near it.

If you like it you like it. I think I’d be happy to get rid of some of the excessive chromeishness on my Crossfire.

I far prefer brushed aluminum to chrome, and I hate a sea of monochrome black, so this is definitely livable.

I kinda want to get one of those wheels... mine is all rubberized plastic.

For myself I might go SLK wood for mine. I’m sure if there was such a thing as a Crossfire purist it’d upset them. I don’t think such a creature exists.

I got lucky with mine and had the deluxe interior minus the leather on my 2008.

Said in the voice of that 1986 engineer in Star Trek 4: “Billet aluminum??!”

dude, I am sure they’re out there. On the crossfire forums, there are surely a few dudes who are obsessed with factory correct crossfires

I really haven’t seen it on the forums given all the V8 swap and engine mod obsessed guys. I sadly bet you’re right though.

I test drove a ‘14 and the spokes were so cold I couldn't hold the wheel at 9-3

It did look pretty good. I ordered that car with kind of a weird combination of options since it had the aluminum/silver trim, Shaker 500 and the gauges but cloth seats.

I really wish I had the aluminum dash trim and Shaker system. My Pioneer head unit does an excellent job wringing out the four-speaker system, but I hate pumping a full range of sound through tiny speakers like that. Any time bass happens it distorts the highs. Best to leave bass to a speaker designed for it, like a sub.
