I changed both headlights !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , having to remove the entire front bumper to access the bulbs. Horrible, evil engineers.
This time was a bit quicker, since I knew what I was doing and not overly frightened of tearing the bumper off.
Why would a bulb only last 2 months?

We just replaced the windshield in our Wrangler last summer, and it’s cracked again.

your insurance cover that? Still sucks.

Overcharging, or too hot temps around the bulb. Measure the voltage you’re getting and see if it’s on the high side, else could just be bad bulbs...

I've had the same experience with sylvania silver star h7 halogens in my Passat. I emailed them about it and they sent me another set for free

Change brands this time and load up the grease.

Did you heed whatever instructions about what not to touch? Skin oils on the wrong places can apparently fry bulbs quickly.

Not all modern cars are this bad in terms of replacing bulbs, on a 2003-2009 VW Golf/Rabbit with halogens you could do it in under a minute.

Sylvania SilverStars?

It’s not even from a stone or something, it’s a stress fracture. How, I don’t know. The windshield surround isn’t “load bearing” and doesn’t flex.

you can’t just pull the lamp housings out? I mean, there’s no access to the back of the lights on the FieSTa either, but you can pull the whole assembly with only two bolts and its pin-located so you don’t have to re-aim...

Out of curiosity, who did it?
Safelite?
The glass they use is terrible grade Chinese junk (for the most part)

I can’t believe newer cars require this.
The Volvo is so simple. I pull one pin and the whole headlight housing comes out! Takes two seconds.
But most new Chevys do this too. I was so confused when I first saw that a headlight replacement cost $90

Friend of mine averaged two windshields a year in her 2010. The angle of the windshield is all bad and aftermarket glass is crap.

No, Safelite doesn’t service where I live.

I never replace windshields anymore if they have a crack. Every time I do he very next day someone on the interstate just flings a rock at me.

Windshield cracks are an automatic state inspection failure for me. Luckily it’s stickered through August so it’s good until then.

And that rules out the GenCoupe for me.
