Many speculated that the Buick Avista and the Opel GT will be the same car really, but with different badges. But this teaser shows a different car.
Exhaust looks different too.
So there’s a few possibilities here:
- We’re talking about different models for different markets(pretty doubtful in an increasingly global world).
- Both cars are concepts and the car that gets the most positive reactions gets built and sold globally in a badge engineering move.
- Only the Opel will be built because Chevrolet and Cadillac want to keep Buick in the mole hole.
- None of the two cars get built because GM needs to invest more in the next 30 crossovers and trucks they’ll be building.

Dear lord the sky/gt were such attractive cars. My mom has a black base model Sky and it look waaaay more expensive than it was.

In their defense, that is where the money is...

Google Solstice Coupe. Adding a hardtop significantly improved the looks.

It will probably be an Astra based coupe (fwd) to replace the also Astra based GTC.

I think the Opel/Vauxhall will build it to add a sportier convertible to the Cascada in the line-up.

Yeah, I know about the Solstice coupe but I just don’t like the Solstice as much as the Sky/GT twins. It’s a bit too round and too kidney-grilled for me.
