Vauxhall Viva

Good looking car.
Vauxhall Viva.
Amongst others.
The new Vauxhall Viva is very different.
Opel calls it the Karl, Vauxhall calls it the Viva, Chevy calls it the Spark. What will Holden be calling it?

it will be the Holden Spark , Chevy front end but Holden logo (obviously)

I was sort of hoping it would be called the Holden Viva after the Vivas that were assembled in Australia by General Motors-Holden.

Isn’t the first one a Firenza?

HA!
My mother’s first car was a HB.

Lol. Yes the first was a Firenza. Doh.
I thought I clicked on the pic next to it. Here:-

Now, what’s that maroon convertible behind the HB convertible?

Probably Holden Bruce ...

It’s a 1952 Jowett Jupiter.

sadly only a few years ago we had these badged as a Viva
shoddy Daewoo shit.

Er, ye’, we had it as the Daewoo Lacetti. No surprise Daewoo didn’t last long before being bought by Chevy in Europe which in turn didn’t last long and pulled out of the U.K. and Europe just the other year.

Different. I had an idea it might be a Jowett of some kind on the grounds of it being odd-looking.

I kept seeing Aston Martin DB1 or old Jaguar till I looked into Simon Cars
Really worth a look.

we too had it as a Daewoo before Daewoo pulled out of Australia in about 2003/4 , these were badges as a Holden from 2006 onwards.

I think that was about the time Chevy took over from Daewoo.

My grandfather’s first car. It was a piece of junk according to him.

Is your name not Bruce? That’s going to cause a lot of confusion, mind if we call you Bruce?
![]() 01/19/2016 at 09:06 |

My dad was his neighbourhood’s champion Vauxhall master cylinder changer for 1970! (1960 victor)

Bruce is not a very Jewish name...
but you seem like a nice guy, you can call me Bruce

Firenza bad. Right?

Came from a Jewish-ish neighborhood, I’m sure we had some Bruces, but none come to mind. does Jewish Stig drive a Sabra? That would work for me.

A Jewish Bruce is probably a Baruch , which is far more common Jewish name.
and no,
my DD is an Alfa romeo Mito QV,
but my grandfather had a neighbor which had a Sabra , close enough...

Don’t think too many Sabras have survived the last 50 years, so 2 degrees of separation isn’t bad. Just wanted to show off my extensive knowledge of all sportscars built in Haifa.

“Sportscar” is kinda streching it....
but actually there is quite a big Sabra car club.
