It looks boring which is important for my old car straight forward design has all the features I want and I like the 3 line display. And they can be had for like $80 on ebay.
It comes in the Scion Fr-s is there any reason I wouldn’t be able to add this to my miata?

it’s double-DIN so it’ll fit. The only feature that might not work in another car is if it has steering wheel controls.
Other than that you could make it fit without even soldering. get wiring harness adapters Toyota/Pioneer - Din, Din - Mazda. Job done.

Basically merge these two things together, stereo harness from a 2014 FRS and the harness for your year Miata

DIN is a standard for car audio. Both dimensions of the headunit and wiring harness pinouts. So you can just get adapters that go from Toyota standard to DIN. And another from DIN to Mazda. Great for if you ever want to sell your car and keep the head unit or vice versa.

Aren’t they called ISO-plugs tho, and not DIN? DIN is typically the size of it

Every one I have bought has been labelled DIN-whatever etc. But you are probably right.
