I’m sure we’ve all heard of or seen Bugs with Subaru engines in them, but why not try to put it in something more performance oriented from that era? Of course, the 60s and early 70s 911s are so expensive you’d have to be STUPID to chop one up, but how about something a little lower market, a 912? You still get the same great chassis and engine placement for a far lower cost. I’d guess that’s exactly what the owner of this 912 thought before shoving a Subaru engine back there.

Oh man, that's really cool. I bet an FBO STI engine with a little bit of lag would really make that 912 a riot to drive.

I really like a bit of turbo lag. It gives a somewhat more fun driving experience.

The real question is, how did they manage the radiator? For me, that’s really the deciding factor on these sort of swaps.
EDIT: Jesus fucking Christ I’m dumb it’s right the fuck there.

I saw a 912 at hot august nights. It was a piece of crap with turbo flares and whale tail and a big board describing how rare and desirable and rare his car is. I wanted to find him and karate chop him in the teeth. The thing was falling apart with all the fiberglass cracking and the paint along with it.

Seriously, turbo lag is the best. I miss having it.

My car has no turbo lag at all. My jalop self kind of wants to install a nice BOV and go FBO so I can make turbo noises and enjoy some turbo lag, but my sensible self is stopping me.. For now.

My w123 has like 10 seconds of turbo lag.
