Happy new year! First drive and car pics of the year.
This park opened to the public just two months ago at the bottom of my favourite local mountain road.
The site was a gravel quarry until its closure in 1967, thereafter being used as a private venue for Santa Clara County employees. In 2011 the site began its transition into a public park with new restrooms and picnic facilities.
At the entrance sits the foundation and loading tunnels of the quarry building, an interesting backdrop to take some car photos. The wooden quarry processing facility is long gone, so all that remains are the base and some of the gravel roads and trails.
It was getting late, and I really should have brought my tripod to execute these shots. Definitely planning to go back again soon to explore the rest of the site and take a longer look at the historic photos.
Safe motoring to all in 2016!

I like the two shots in the tunnel thing.
Also, I’ve lived in San Jose my entire life and I work pretty close to this park. I never knew it existed. I will have to check this out when the weather warms up.

It wasn’t opened to the public until October 2015; I hadn’t heard of it either.

Thanks. There’s got to be some F355s in Louisiana, just sayin’!

One morning there was a red F355 parked in front of a Peete’s Coffee that I frequent in Palo Alto. I swooned.
The very next morning in the same spot directly in front of the Peete’s door was a blue F355 Spider.

Which Peets? I have brought mine to the Middlefield store maybe once. It’s too close to my work so I try not to put my car on such short drives.
I've seen one other red Spider there, before I got my Berlinetta.

Charleston and Middlefield. I may have gotten mixed up with which one was the convertible, though this was only mid 2015.
I immediately assumed they belonged to the same person. One for while the other is in the shop! So nice to see them out on random days, particularly in between all of the Teslas and Porsches.

That’s the one near my work.
I have had my car for 1.5 years, and to this day I have not randomly encountered another F355 out on the road. Events with intended participation don’t count.

I work nearby too. Perhaps one day you’ll get a wave from an S2000 (probably happens to you already anyway).

AP1. Silverstone with Red interior. Mostly stock, just some black Enkei wheels.

Still one of the prettiest modern Ferraris ever made.

Hey! I live in the Saratoga area...I’ll keep my eyes peeled for an F355 on the roads...

Give a honk!! The F355's air horns are hilarious and cute.

Will do! Also, that is a very very pretty car. I’m so happy to see you restoring and maintaining and most of all driving it about as it was designed to do. The more Ferraris we have on Oppo the better! Older ones are best though, IMO...
