It’s true.
To be fair, amongst the people I know they all enjoy cooking to some degree (some enjoy making the basics while others want to make those fancy restaurant-like dishes). At my workplace, food is what we end up talking about at least half of the time.

I can cry onto a grilled cheese sandwich as I make it. Does that count?

Truth.
Although that being said I do the majority of cooking in my house, as I’m a better/more adventurous cook.
My mother couldn’t cook at all, which is mind boggling as my grandmother was a fantastic cook. Go figure.

Sure, but YOU try figuring out the preset buttons on the microwave!

Should goldfish know how to cook?

Heh. This reminds me of a newly married incapable couple from home. He’s like 25 and I’m not sure how old she is, but he leaves her to do all the chores and then she goes home to her parents every night for dinner.
#fail.

I had three bags of microwave popcorn, I selected popcorn and 3, yet somehow it’s all burned and the fire alarm went off. Thanks Obama.

I cook rather well, I enjoy cooking. I attended culinary school, but then I dropped after two semesters because I was unsure if that's what I wanted to do and I didn't want to limit myself. I still like cooking though.

I firmly believe cooking is more art than science. When I attempt to cook, I follow the recipe. The result comes out as “edible” in the same way tap water is “potable.” While my wife makes substitutions and never sets timers and it always is great.

Are we including dangerous-but-awesome substances on this list? No, no, not meth.
Explodey things.

The coffee maker has the cup in place, as it should be. Proper.

I agree with this fully. That said, my girlfriend is away and I’m getting takeout for one.

I can prevent myself from starving. And I can bake desserts.
Anything else goes in the crock pot or gets eaten raw.

Cooking is an art but baking is a science.

I like that my microwave has a Chaos button. I don’t know what it does, but it’s nice that it’s there.

I think it would be a good start to learn cooking techniques instead of a recipe...like roasting, grilling, making a roux/sauce/base.
Then when you see a recipe, just string those technique into a sequence.

Well, fuck. There it is. I agree with one of your posts. Is hell froze over or something?

Lol it is my actual name.
Incidentally, Spanish and indian languages both use the word Tapas (just with different meanings)

that mostly comes down to experience. make the reciepe a few more times, change things here and there, see what works and what doesn’t
