I hope some good games come out for classic race cars and WWII planes. I would like to sit in and drive cars I will never get to in reality.

I was prepared to drop 300-350 on one, but the 600 price tag is just too much for me right now. That’s a lot of tires, gas, and entry fees :(

I also would have jumped at 300-400.
Just keep in mind that the first ‘personal computer’ cost $55,000. The price will come down once the marketplace fleshes out.

Oh yeah I know it will come down eventually, plus perhaps some interesting competing products (current headsets in the pipeline seem lacking)

“It costs too much. I’m just gonna buy used.”

I would be surprised to see Apple get involved in this space. Microsoft as well, of course.

The problem is because it’s an all new product, the used ones aren’t so good, being prototypes and all. Also there aren’t a plethora of brands to choose from yet.

I’d love to see DiRT Rally with an Oculus. You could really feel what it’s like to be Finnish lol

I work on shows, all kinds, auto show, E3 etc... so I’ve tried them all each year. Some impressive stuff on Oculus this last time My friend did their booth.

Others are going to be tied to Sony products etc so Oculus will be a wider market with developers.

There’s something called TrackIR that uses head tracking to accomplish the same thing as Oculus Rift but on a single monitor. It is significantly cheaper and the front page of its website prominently announces that DiRT is compatible.

$600. I’ll wait.
And I just spent a bunch a new G920 wheel.
Also, no PC.

But you aren’t sitting in the car, or plane etc. I tried a few games because my friend works for the company that did the Oculus booth at E3 and game dev. I have done some shows for the last three years and it is pretty amazing, I did Capcom last year so no cool stuff for me, I did Nvidia before but didn’t give me a free graphics card! Games are not the only thing, they want to do tours of places they scan in 3D so you can walk around. All kinds of possibilities.
