Looking forward to reading this review. It seems, however, that the result has been spoiled.

Me too. That's waiting for me at home when I get a chance. I too was bummed that they ruined the outcome, but now I want to know why.

I’ve read it, and the results aren’t exactly spoiled by the title. I was very surprised by their impressions of the vette.

I know that C & D uses number-based scoring to determine their comparo winners, for better or for worse. Were these two relatively close, or were they pretty far apart?

The Corvette beat the Mustang on numbers, but the Mustang was more fun to drive.
I’d still buy the Corvette...

The question is, is that up against the Stingray or the Z06?
If Stingray, that doesn’t really surprise me much after head2head compared the Z28 and the GT350R. The Stingray is 50hp down on the Z28, one of the most focused and amazing cars you can get, and even though it was very close the GT350R still took it. Reading between the lines tells me that no matter how much I would swear up and down that the Corvette is and always will be better (Chevy fanboi), the facts are that they would always be close at best and lean to the GT350 at worst.
If Z06, WUT?!?!?!?!

It looks like the stingray to me
The Z06 is not evenly priced for this comparo

SPOLIERS FOR A MAGAZINE ARTICLE, IF THAT’S A THING

The Mustang won by 1 or 2, if I remember correctly, but that was with a 3 point advantage on ‘fun to drive’. It lost in all the measurables and on the track.

Looks like a Stingray. The carbon lip spoiler under the bumper doesn’t look to be on the car in the pic and the grille is different on the Z06.

Stingray.
Their main gripe was the vette’s stearing feel. Which I think is funny when lined up against a 4000 pound Mustang. I’m curious if a better tire selection (softer rubber on a narrower tire with the same wheels) would have made a difference.

The Vette makes the Mustang looks HUGE in that picture.

That’s because it is.
While walking a used car lot a week or so ago, I came across an early S197 Mustang parked next to a late MN12 Thunderbird. They were the same width and length, but the T-bird had a lower belt-line and better visibility.
Everybody claims the personal luxury coupe went extinct. It didn’t, the class was just taken over by former pony car nameplates.
