How is it (both the system and the game)? I’ve got a wii and basically only play wii sports, smash bros, mariokart, NHL, COD (only occasionally), and Virtual console games (smash 64, mario 64, and LoZ OoT specifically). Is there virtual console on WiiU/is it well supported?

Ever since Melee I hated Marth with the firey passion of a thousand suns. His side directional smash moves were able to hit through vertical platforms.

Lucas is my ninja. I’m also a beast with Lil’ Mac.

Wii U is awesome for local multiplayer (aka you have real friends). Online, it sucks.

I’m not much for online play. My favorite games by far are the story modes in the first person shooters and local multiplayer in smash, mariokart, sports.

Also can I play LoZ OoT on it? Backwards compatible? Virtual Console?

The Wii is emulated within the Wii U itself. Minus Gamecube games and accessories, it’s identical to a Wii. Oh, and yes, OOT is compatible, as I have it on mine.!

Ohhhh, I forgot about Mario Kart. You DEFINITELY want to play that online if possible. Super Mario Maker is also great; daughter and I haven’t been able to put it down and create [good] stages daily.

Not bad. Granted, it is a bit cumbersome to use the gamepad but hey - if you don’t have a TV at the ready or being a bit lazy (I don’t blame you)...

It would be nice to have an ethernet connection for updates, though.

I wonder if the usb to ethernet thing I have for mine would work. I got it initially just for using netflix/prime/updates at school where wifi was slow as shit.

In melee one of my roommates was annoyingly good with Ike.

I fucking hated Ike. I always played as light characters, so I was fucked if I got too close with any damage

I think they got rid of that for both the WiiU/3DS games - as long as you’re not on a flat stage with no walls, you should be fine.

Using final smash on the Boxing Ring/Wii Fit Trainer stage? You’re gonna have a bad time.
