Why isn’t the 2016 Maxima getting more hate for its looks?
I mean that is ugly. It’s a loathsome, offensive brute. Just way, way too much shit going on on that car’s face.

To each their own, I’m actually loving the extreme family face they’re putting on everything.

Nissan is that kid in high school that you only hung out with because you felt bad for him. He tried so, so hard to be cool, but wound up being that guy who paired guyliner with a fanny pack.

Because it looks better than the Juke.

I think it looks terrible in pics, but pretty great in person.

I actually like that as a brand strategy, building an even uglier car so your ugly car doesn’t seem that ugly.
“Hey, that’s a new Maxima you bought...don’t you think they’re kinda ugly?” “Sure, but have you seen the Juke?” “Oh god you’re right, now it doesn’t look so bad.”

It’s endorsed by Stevie Wonder and the book; “How to make yourself blind at home.”

At least Nissan isn’t going the “they still make those?” route that Mitsubishi did.

Ummm... I like it.

I actually didn’t think it was that ugly in the pictures I saw. Overstyled, but not too offensive to my taste.
I just saw one in person for the first time a few days ago. I take everything back; holy fucking shit it’s hideous.

I thought it was getting a lot of hate for the looks? Guess we all need to step it up then.

Saw one in person a few days ago and it looks awesome. Let it be.

It looks like every design cue was stopped 3/4 of the way through. Designer “but I’m not done ye-” poduction “looks good. Ship that bitch”

Unpopular opinion: I think it looks quite handsome.

Just picture it with a front license plate.............

At least they’re trying something different. The outgoing Altima may be the most inoffensive car ever designed. Hard to imagine the designs came from the same company let alone same decade.

I love it. Give me that blue SR in that picture and I'll be a happy man.

Unfortunately I think this is one of those situations where everyone will get used to it and it will shape car styling in a small way for years to come.
Think of the implications: if people start to like this, everything else suddenly looks bland. So they’ll start to overstyle all the things. For a while.
