Guess the market for small lifestyle SUVs doesn’t have much overlap with the market for cars that say Oldsmobile on them.

Call me crazy, but I really like Bravadas, the facelifted one like so particularly.

I believe this was the era when Olds’ business plan was basically “Oldsmobile all the things”
And lest you think this was aimed at men, it’s Bravad a
The platform was half decent. Body on frame, RWD, decent towing. Just never should have been an Olds.

Oh the GMT360, the greatest platform whore the world has ever known.
GMC Envoy XL
GMC Envoy XUV
Not to mention the related GMT355 that gave us the Colorado, Canyon, Hummer H3 and H3T as well as the Holden Rodeo and Izusu D-Max

I was kind of a surprise to find it shared a platform with the SSR... Now it seems so obvious. One came in for service and had a hole trough the oil pan. Looked it up to find it was for the front drve axle found on the trailblazer.

I know it’s bravada... Autocorrect doesn’t haha
It’s such a weird thing to put an olds badge on, you see other cars on that platform all the time.

They should have made a Wolfcastle edition of the Rainier.

I’m going to venture a guess that it’s a toss up between the Ascender and 9-7X for the rarest variant on the platform...

9-7x Aero
390 stock hp from 6.0 liters, stock 0-60 under 6. Not bad.jpg

I would assume this version sold a bit more than the SAAB GMT360. I always wished that I-6 in there was put in some sort of sports car.

Ahh yes, the elusive 9-7X Aero. It gets mentioned a lot. I seem to recall that very, very few were made.

I don’t know, Olds went under before Saab, didn’t they? I’ve seen more of the Saab’s everywhere I’ve loved.

Actually, the 355 isn't related at all (apparently). And the H3T is actually on the GMT345 platform (which is related to the 355).

Interesting, I always assumed that the 355 and 360 were related, but I can see how they aren’t. One the dumbest things GM ever did was to design a platform that couldn’t accept their excellent I6 engine

Yeah, so did I. I was digging around for some info to do mods and found that tidbit.
Fail enough. A 4.2 GMT355 would be pretty cool. On the other hand, it did manage to accept their (also excellent) V8. I’m sure they could have shoehorned the I6 in.

The Bravada was ‘02 to ‘04 model year and the Saab is ‘05 to ‘09. Around here the Saabs are rare and there is more Bravadas granted they are in no way a common sight.

I meant lived in the last sentence. Fucking autocorrect. I didn’t love living in Florida.
