An acquaintance passed away earlier today from a purported spider bite. Hasn’t been any definitive info, but he was bit by something and it caused his death. Everybody is saying it was probably a brown recluse, but as far as I know they aren’t in my state.
He was a successful local businessman and pretty cool guy during my interactions with him. He got a Challenger when they first came out and did a pretty righteous burnout with it.
Regardless of what bit him, fuck spiders.

Brown Recluse bites very rarely cause death. Local necrosis and stuff is way more common. Deaths from spider bites in the United States are spectacularily uncommon.

From what state doth your roots reside?

We have them strong in Oregon. Not on the map tho. Bites are nasty. Tissue just disolves. But also not often fatal.

I also liberally spread diatomaceous earth around the house. Nothing enters and survives.

Aye neighbor. Travel yonder across the great Ohio to the land of buckeye to visit my hut.

Thank you. To add to that only 10-20% of Brown Recluse bites cause any major necrosis. Most just cause a small painful spot and some swelling.

Do you mix it with anything?

No, it kills them with a thousand tiny cuts. Big bag is cheap too.
