On Brake Rotors, Brake Pads, Wheel Bearings, Wheel Seals, Dust Caps, Brake Calipers and a few other odds and ends needed for a full front brake job.

Kinja'd!!!

I noticed my inner pads were more worn than my outer pads, so I thought since Im doing rotors, pads and bearings, might as well do the calipers too. I should have time to do the brake job sometime next week.

do you have C clamps? You’ll need C clamps.

That reminded me, today I saw a Trailblazer driving down the road with the caliper hanging towards the ground.

Since he’s doing whole new calipers he won’t need them. They come compressed already.

My rear brake shoes were $15 and my wheel cylinder was $30. Too bad my needed brake booster will be closer to $170.

Are you working on a GM or Ford product? More specifically, is it a truck?

But since the pads are so worn the old calipers will be compressed when he gets to them. Every time I’ve had to take a caliper off I’ve always had to compress it.

I’ll be doing it at jake huitts house with him. If I end up needing C clamps, I would be surprised if he doesnt have some

Woo. Sounds fun. I like doing disc brakes. It's a shame you can't do stainless braided lines

Compress them with your bare hands, like a man!

I used to work in parts and I was speculating what you were working on by the price of the parts. The cheapest parts in the biz are for GM trucks, with Ford trucks being a close second.

I work at oreillys, so I got to use my discount. Though on hard parts, it isnt much. If I could stand to wait for shipping, I probably wouldve spent less at rockauto

You're replacing the calipers so I'm not sure how you wouldn't be bleeding the system already. Also even if you just go rubber oem if it's never been done new brake hoses are a good idea to do now.

I am the proud owner of two c-clamps, because part way through a brake change I could not find my c-clamp so I bought another. only to return home and immediately find my black c-clamp sitting right in the drawer where expected, a black drawer, think it just blended right in.

Won’t you have to or shouldn’t you since you’re doing everything else? It’s time consuming but if it’s been a long while since it got new brake fluid it could be beneficial
