My back started spasming again. I’m closer to the bottom picture.

I have had my share of back spasms. The very first one had me on the floor for six hours until I finally called for an ambulance. But what I learned after the second one is that, no matter how much it hurts, you have to keep moving. Sitting in a chair makes it not hurt, but it doesn’t do anything to stretch the muscles. Getting up hurts like hell, but the pain will stop. I’ve got a length of closet bar that I wrapped in duct tape to use a cane that is also good for lifting the toilet seat, flushing the toilet, flipping light switches, etc. Since I lost some weight and exercise (a bit) more regularly, I’ve not had another. But if I do, I will just keep moving as much as possible. Best of luck. Back spasms suck.

Thanks for the advice, I've had them before and I know I need to keep moving

Then you know what you’re in for. That helps. I also never had any luck with muscle relaxers. I just learned to suck it up. You probably already know this too, but I recommend sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees to keep your back straight.

I feel your pain, I’ve been fighting one with heavy doses of Advil for the past day. My cure all currently is Flexeral and a beer. Knocks you on yours ass but you feel like a wet noodle.

I'm doing that right now but I'm not sleeping yet

They usually make me sleep or feel really tired and lightheaded if I stay up

I do about 30 minutes of back stretches and strengthing exercises everyday. It sucks but it’s the only thing that keeps the back in check. I found doctors pretty useless, I am now using a physical therapist who has me pretty well straightened out.

Yeah I only take them before I crash for the night. I passed out siting on the floor once, the wife left me there. and laughed.
