I’m down to my last week-and-a-half at my current job and all the people there, including supervisors, have become all bitter and snippy with me because I’m leaving. I’m not sitting in this dead end job and waking up 20 years later realizing I hate it like they have.
That’s one thing I dislike about situations like this. They get really cliquey and if you leave the clique then you’re imeldiately ostracized. Sorry, didn’t realize I worked in a real-life version of “Mean Girls” complete with middle-aged soccer moms as the characters.
Car picture for your time.
(My favorite modified 4th generation 3.)

Congrats on that new job. I literally just starting applying for a new job last night, hopefully I’ll join you soon.

Laugh at them. Do stuff like when someone who is behaving this way is in the middle of talking to you just walk away abruptly in the middle of what they are saying (not to the supervisors obviously).

That’s not how “Bye Felicia” works.

I’ve quickly learned that people never actually grow up. Elements of high school drama persist throughout life. It’s just a matter of learning to deal with those sort of people. I do my best to interact with them as little as possible. They aren’t worth my time.

Fucking good for you for getting out and to hell with them. I detest the office cliques and attitudes like you wouldn’t believe. Part of why I left my last job in June.

I’d kill just to work with moms at all. At least they’d have some appreciation for work-life balance. All my coworkers are young and single or empty nesters. People with nothing but time on their hands.
Sometimes I’m tempted to just burn bridges and make them pay me a consulting fee to work out my two weeks. Because those two weeks will be hell and I will have the upper hand...

The worst job I ever had was one as the only male in a bank full of females. I never knew where I stood with anyone, and generally didn’t enjoy it at all.
By the way, Wells Fargo is a terrible place to work if you like making your numbers honestly.

Yeah when I left my last job I made sure my last 2 weeks were doing onsite Engineer/Construction Management so I didn’t have to interact with my boss (who is why I left). Still had to deal with bitterness from him and the other employees that made me want to leave.

I made it three months on the phone in their tech support call center - which turned out to be a sales position. I hated it and quit before I had my third panic attack.

Fuck it. Do that to supervisors. Petty bullshit shouldn’t be tolerated. He’s already out and moving on to better things.

My company ostracized so well that people are rarely allowed to even work through their two weeks. They're really that offended by the idea that someone would leave.

I Went through a similar situation when I left my last job. People at a reasonable organization would never act that way. Just affirmation that you made the right choice by leaving.

What a coincidence. I work in a mortgage servicing center for a bank. 85 or so employees in my area. Four are males. One being me. And all management is women. It’s a very bitchy environment. Exhausting. My new boss is a man and there is a more equal male-female ratio, thankfully.

When I was a sales associate at AT&T, nobody ever worked their two weeks. You'd give your notice and the boss would say go ahead and go. Worked out well for me. Week vacation!

It’s how it works for me! I’d love to mic drop peace out my last day but since I’m technically staying at the same company I can’t burn too many bridges.

Here’s the thing, he’s actually working for the same company just a different Dept. and location. I wouldn’t want him to do that to some supervisors who have a stick up their ass and they shit talk him to his new Supes. I just don’t understand how people can behave this way when you are giving them the COURTESY of 2 weeks notice instead of just writing an email day of “Effective immediately I am no longer going to work for xx company”.

Actual bank jobs are like that they don’t want you stealing or doing some dumb shit so the day you “quit” or are let go is the day you pack your office and get escorted out.

There are no positions at Wells which are not a sales position. If you work there, you’re expected to sell. I got out with most of my soul intact, having refused to game old ladies into portfolio accounts they wouldn’t benefit from.
