I’ve been driving behind a Takata airbag....
Oh, and don’t worry ‘bout that little orange engine light thing, that’s just on because it was overheated to 284 degrees. It runs just fine....
Besides, I’m a Professional Piece Of Shit driver. I’m used to this.

Saw Takata Airbag at the Roxy in ‘97, when they still had their original front man. Good times.

Am I going to die a horrible air bag death?

Damn, thought all the S models had the reddish orange “electroluminescant” gauge clusters.

Taking a picture while driving, in a car with a Takata air bag? Someone has a death wish.

Nope. But death by In-N-Out is a likely possibility.

As you used to proclaim “...V6, Manual, Camry, Driver Extraordinaire.”
Maintain the driver extraordinaire part an you will be good. :)

Only on GTs IIRC. My 07 6s SVE had that gauges and the 05 GT had the EL.

Nope, Mazda3s didn't get Takata units, thankfully. And that burger looks amazing.

you: Calls him self a jalop, drives a automatic....
me: Calls out others for driving an auto, daily drives a CVT CUV...
when you said 5 doors and same wheel size, I had a feeling it was going to be a 6 wagon or 6 with a hatch.
the mazda 6 had an auto 6 speed back in 2006?

Yeah man. They sold out and music was shit after they signed with that major label and started thinking they were “rock stars"...

This post made me sad... I sold my 6s a few months ago because the valves had seen their last days. I miss the crap out of that car

You can have this one. It’s a shit pile.

Ugh, literally the most garbage interior plastics ever. But that V6, the sound (mine had a mild Magnaflow fitted), the brakes.... That piece of shit 6AT...

This one has beige seats. And it looks as if someone was murdered on them. Plus suspension clunks, tire imbalance, duct taped intake hose, worn brakes, rust spots, etc

Aside from the valves (and a never-diagnosed oil light thing. Probably related idk) mine was in decent-ish mechanical shape. Except the huge -thunk- going from 2nd to 3rd. Aftermarket intake tho, so at least it wasn’t nearly as bad as some Ive seen. Someone had installed piece of shit HIDs. Not an easy fix when the fucking expansion tank and intake are in the way. Suspension and brakes were in good shape though.
No rust, because California
Little parcel shelf thing where the satnav is supposed to go had one side totally get fucked up.
Mine had the grey/black seats, but they did that thing where the support tears itself through the cover, it was tastefully duct tapped in black.
Driver door card was always seconds from coming all the way off.
Rear seats hard as fuck.
Ok so there was a lot wrong with it, but it drove fantastic.
Except like 21 MPG in the summer with the AC on. Which didn’t work that well anyway. And the LED display was fucked up. And it was hard as fuck to work on.
Mom bought a 2011 with the 2.5 and the 6MT. It is literally a totally different car. None of the shit interior, actually comfortable, actually efficient, AC works....

I really like the 2nd gens, even though they are massive. With the V6 they really move, too. Too bad none were offered with a manual.

They do not handle nearly the same, a shame really. While it’s not “fast”, I've found that the 2.5 has a respectable amount of torque. I never feel like I don't have enough power to do something
