I don’t know why, but, ‘Intake tubes - 2 tubes off - 4 tubes off’ made me LOL.

Nothing to be scared of, it couldn’t be a simpler system and it’s really reliable. It has a bad rep because people who don’t know how it works just go in and start making adjustments and get it tuned so poorly that they can’t find their way back to square one. I love K-Jet personally, it’s fun for me to get it properly tuned.

It is ok so far. Need an extension to get the other side off because I can’t find mine. Plus it has been too hot to want to go work in the gravel parking lot behind my work. So that is as far as i have gotten.

I agree 100% - I love K-Jetronic. I’ve had plenty of cars with it, both stock and modified, and that was one system that never gave me a spot of trouble. ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’ is a favourite quote and it couldn’t be more true with this design.

I love the look of the early 928 engines with all of those runners, especially with a nice Porsche crest on the manifold

Kinja'd!!!

Even doing a little painting of the crest looks pretty sweet:

There are lots of versions of Jetronic ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jetronic ), but K-Jetronic is one of the simplest but best IMHO. The only version I don’t care for is Mono-Jetronic, a single-injector system like GM’s TBI, but if anyone could make it work it would be Bosch. Yeah, it’s FI, but barely - give me at least one injector per cylinder, thankyouverymuch.

I’m glad you’re working on bringing back a classic 928 from the dead (that’s what I’m assuming from pictures with all the rust and cobwebs). Keep posting updates - I’m looking forward to seeing your progress.

Cool project. Maybe not dead, but not that far away from all indications. I wish I had your bravery! Best of luck on turning this back into a reliable runner.
