NPoCP and is it worth it without any other mods?

COBB Accessport V3 Focus ST for $350?

I’ve only seen it sold brand new for something like $500, is it worth the money even if I have not done anything else to the car yet. (Planning on larger intercooler, exhaust, intake, rear motor mount - recommended by you fine folk)

Definitely worth it. With no mods on my Legacy GT I went from 258 crank torques to 309 wheel torques.

Absolutely worth it. My favorite thing I ever did to my MCS was a basic flash tune with an AP. Plus this allows you to take advantage of those future mods you mentioned, and really get their potential out of them.

All my knowledge is based on the Ford Racing tune, which is a more conservative map than the COBB one, but yes, that a good price and you probably don’t need any mods to start out.

The Ford Racing literature seemed to indicate that the stock exhaust was not restrictive enough to affect their map. They recommended their ram air intake, but all that is a K&N filter and a little duct that attaches to the airbox to draw air from slightly further forward in the engine bay. This makes me think that the filter itself is the most restrictive part of the intake. Also, I can’t imagine drawing air from 5 inches further forward makes much of a difference in intake temps at 45 mph+.

So, just buy one of those Green or K&N cone filters that will fit in you stock airbox, and you will be right-as-rain. The rest of your later mods should take care of the increased torque and hotter exhaust that come with a tune.

Do it. 350 is cheap as hell for a V3
