Hey, ULY. Remember some months ago you drew the outline of an airplane you saw in Houston and we tried to figure out what it was? Do you have that drawing handy, or can you make another one? I posted today in my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! post about the XB-70 Valkyrie, and another Opponaut who lives in San Antonio says she saw one. Now, there’s no chance she saw an XB-70, but the drawing you made did bear a certain similarity to the Valkyrie, and to have a second sighting of such a plane in TX makes things curiouser and curiouser. I’ll see if I can dig up the old post.
Edit: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Are we having Aurora sightings in TX?

That’s a weather balloon bro.

Somebody’s seeing something. I still think they’re seeing a Beech Starship, but ULY swears it isn’t.

I thought it was swamp gas.

WHERE THE GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AT?!

Oh wow really? If it was some sort of prototype I doubt it would fly through the downtown area here. What could it be? It could of been one of the other planes ya’ll said it could be that this dude saw

It could be some sort of one-off experimental home-built thing that is flying around TX. You need to take a picture of it!

If XB-70 left the hangar, I’d know about it. That would cause quite the commotion.

We’d all know about it. I’m certain it’s not going anywhere. I wonder if it even has engines in it any more. I’m beginning to wonder if this isn’t some one-off homebuilt that is flying around TX.

That is clearly a guy in a sombrero and poncho.

Maybe EL_ULY was hanging out at Ninfa’s?

I see a poncho, too.

Was the original post from the day of the sighting?

HAVE Blue and a YF-12 are sitting off to the left. It’s quite the toy box.

Interesting. LRS-B perhaps?

Do you subscribe to flight aware by chance, or know someone who does? It only lets you search back 14 days unless you pay up. Would be easy enough to search the remaining starship n numbers.

The boxes at the back are throwing me, but I’m still convinced it was something like a Eurofighter Typhoon or Dassault Rafale . The boxes could have been ferry tanks that were just long enough to hang past the trailing edge of the wings, or they could have appeared to depending on the viewing angle.

Both the Typhoon and Rafale are both around the same size as a Beechcraft Starship.

They were pretty boxy and stuck out a bit.

I do not subscribe. But Jcarr checked back in the original discussion in March.

Do either of those look relatively close other than the boxy extensions at the back of the wings? I wonder if it could have been flying slow and had the flaps extended, but I can’t find a picture showing that.

It’s possible buddy. It did make such an odd sound. Jet like indeed but odd.

Although his claims have been controversial, Bob Lazar has stated that, during his employment at the mysterious S-4 facility in Nevada , he briefly witnessed an Aurora flight while aboard a bus near Groom Lake . He claimed that there was a “tremendous roar” which sounded almost as though “the sky was tearing”. Although Lazar only saw the aircraft for a moment through the front of the bus, he described it as being “very large” and having “two huge, square exhausts with vanes in them”. Lazar claims that his supervisor confirmed to him that the aircraft was indeed an “Aurora”, a “high altitude research plane”. He was also told that the aircraft was powered by “liquid methane ”.

An interesting thought, but I can't imagine it would be flying in daylight over such huge population centers.

Mostly kidding, just a very similar description :)
