BBC-A runs this show all the time - for me, it was great in first run, but now it’s pretty much unwatchable. Blunt Talk, on the other hand, is very funny.

It’s funny how things change. When I was little I constantly watched reruns of The Time Tunnel and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. A couple years ago, I thought I’d revisit and got the discs from Netflix. Both the shows have been rendered unwatchable by the passage of time. VTTBOTS especially - I realize now that they don’t spend enough time on the sub. It’s like a Batman movie where he doesn’t get into the suit until halfway into Act 2.

Pretty sure that was the DJ/voiceover maestro Ernie Anderson (“If it’s too loud... then you’re too OLD!”), aka Cleveland’s Ghoulardi , and father to director Paul Thomas Anderson (who named his production company after his dad’s alter ego). He was also ABC’s announcer for much of the ‘70s and ‘80s (“Next on The Looooove Boat !”).

(POSTSCRIPT: Though I see now that Anderson only did promos for the first three seasons of TNG , so that might have been the movie voice god Don LaFontaine, who replaced Anderson for the rest of the show’s run.)

Fascinating!

When I was looking for this I first found one of the LaFontaine ones, but it wasn’t the voice I remembered for some reason. Weird that I would remember the voice from when I was no older than 6.
