I saw what I believe was a Pontiac Phoenix on my commute this morning, in goldish-brown. I don’t think I have ever seen one before. This one looked like it was in fantastic shape, unlike the last Citation I

(PA winters are rough on these it seems).
Look at that interior; it’s so tan....
I also saw a first generation Accord hatchback (minus the fender mirrors). I’d rather have this one, rather than the Pontiac...

A 1980 Phoenix was my first car. Thanks for making me relive that horror.

Why don’t I just knee you in the balls instead? I guarantee it would be much less painful.

Same cloth was available on the Trans Ams of the day.

That Phoenix is a heck of a find!
I caught an 82ish Rampage and an 85-86 Nova today. Both looked like they just rolled off the Showroom floor.
The Rampage I understand. They’re awesome.
The Nova?? That was just weird.

I certainly wasn’t expecting to see an X-Body today, let alone a Phoenix. My thought process as I drove past it was pretty much the following: Whoh, that looks like a Citation. Wait, that has a Pontiac badge... Whoh!
I love seeing older mint condition common cars. The Rampage sounds cool, but I really would have liked to see that Nova.

You judge:

That Nova makes me want a Dashcam.
I love running across cars that really shouldn’t be around anymore randomly. I saw a Cutlass Cierra Quad 442 in Wisconsin Sunday. It was at a Body Shop though so it doesn’t really count.

Generally speaking, existence in and of itself was rough on these cars...which is why you finding one in such a state at all today is kind of a miracle in and of itself. ^_^

Better by default...but still better...

I have found that the best place to find gems like these are at doctors’ offices. The last time I was there I found a mint condition 1990 Cavalier Z24.

My wife’s first car was one of those Hondas - silver. Not the best vehicle, but lots of memories going between Pleasanton and UCSB... Dad bought it for her, then got pissed when little sister got a used RX-7.

I believe a former coworker of mine still has a bluish-green ‘81 with only ~15,000 miles on it. They are interesting cars, but I would rather have the RX-7.
